Premium Stout by MMA Star Conor McGregor
Exclusive Launch of "Forged Irish Stout" in Korea
On July 20, CU announced that it will exclusively launch "Forged Irish Stout," a premium black beer crafted by world-renowned mixed martial artist Conor McGregor, in Korea.
CU is strengthening its alcoholic beverage competitiveness by continuously expanding collaborations with a range of celebrities, including a highball co-created with G-Dragon, Kiso Mac by global cultural celebrity Eva Chow, beer launched in partnership with YouTuber Matsuda, and a collaboration wine with the girl band QWER.
The new product, Forged Irish Stout (440ml, ALC 4.2%), is a premium stout launched by Conor McGregor under his own name. The product is an authentic Irish dry stout produced in Dublin, Ireland, characterized by a deep roasted flavor reminiscent of chocolate and coffee, a smooth and creamy texture, and a rich malt profile that are well-balanced. The package highlights the brand identity with design elements symbolizing Ireland, such as Conor McGregor's signature, Celtic patterns, and a blacksmith motif.
This product will be available in limited quantities. Pre-orders are open until August 11 through "CU BAR," an alcoholic beverage pre-order service available on Pocket CU, Baedal Minjok, and Daily Shot. The retail price is 23,900 won for a set of four cans. Customers will be able to pick up their orders from designated CU stores starting September 3. Afterward, a limited quantity will also be sequentially released at offline stores beginning in early September.
To celebrate this exclusive launch, CU is also holding a sweepstakes event for pre-order customers. Prizes include a uniform autographed by Conor McGregor (1 winner), backpacks (6 winners), T-shirts (6 winners), and lanyards (200 winners), distributed through a drawing.
