First Introduction of Public Facility Discounts Through Ordinance Revision

Going forward, vehicles carrying pregnant women in Seoul will be eligible for parking fee discounts of up to 50% at public parking lots. Discounts will also be offered at public facilities, including sports facilities within Hangang parks and water recycling facilities.
On July 19, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it had promulgated and implemented the revised "Ordinance on the Installation and Management of Parking Lots in Seoul," which includes these measures. This revision follows the city's enactment of the "Ordinance on Courtesy and Support for Pregnant Women."
Under the amendment, vehicles carrying pregnant women will be eligible for a 50% discount on parking fees at public parking lots and similar facilities, provided they present proof, such as the pregnancy app card. This benefit applies even if the pregnant woman is not driving herself, as long as her spouse or family member is driving and she is a passenger in the vehicle.
For example, if a pregnant woman visits a hospital or public facility in a family vehicle, presenting her pregnancy app card at the parking payment point will entitle her to the discount.
Pregnant women can also receive discounts on entrance or usage fees for paid facilities at Hangang parks, city parks, and at the Seoul Hall of Urbanism & Architecture. In addition, the usage fee for sports facilities installed at water recycling facilities is discounted by 50%, and the parking fee at these facilities’ lots is also reduced by 50% for vehicles carrying pregnant women.
However, since most areas within Hangang parks and city parks are free to use, the actual benefit applies mainly when using paid facilities or programs within the parks.

To enjoy these discounts, pregnant women are advised to carry official documentation verifying their pregnancy status. If more than one discount applies, only the highest single discount rate may be granted at some facilities.
