APR, a cosmetics company, announced on July 19 that executives from Amazon’s Global Logistics Operations and Supply Chain Strategy (FBA·Fulfillment by Amazon) division recently visited the ‘APR Factory 2nd Campus’ located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.

The visit included Piyush Saraogi, President of Amazon Global FBA, along with other key executives responsible for global supply chain strategy.

The Amazon executives toured the smart factory’s Surface Mount Technology (SMT) process, assembly and inspection lines, as well as the two-story logistics center, inspecting production facilities and the automated logistics system. They reportedly showed particular interest in the integrated system that directly manages everything from manufacturing to logistics of Medicube beauty devices, as well as the operational efficiency achieved through automation.

APR was the first beauty company in Korea to internalize the manufacturing process for at-home beauty devices. At the APR Factory 2nd Campus, completed in May last year, the company produces Medicube’s home beauty device 'AGE-R,' with an annual maximum production capacity of 6 million units.

The company manages the entire production process in real time based on its smart factory system and is gradually expanding automation across its production lines. Moving forward, APR plans to widen the scope of automation to include the assembly and inspection processes of certain beauty devices.

An APR official commented, “This visit demonstrates the growing global interest in the manufacturing and logistics competitiveness of K-Beauty and APR,” adding, “We will continue to upgrade our smart manufacturing and logistics systems to bolster our competitiveness and respond reliably to increasing global demand.”
