View original imageAt around 11:30 a.m. on July 18, a report was received by emergency services that "an alligator is roaming" in Soyangcheon, Chang-dong, Yeoju. In response to the call, fire authorities dispatched seven personnel and two vehicles, and successfully captured the alligator at around 12:06 p.m.
The species of the captured alligator has not yet been identified, but it is presumed to have been kept as a pet. The animal was reported to be approximately 50 centimeters long.
The authorities plan to keep and manage the alligator over the weekend, and transfer it to the city office around July 20.
