During the National Constitution Day holiday, monsoon rains are expected to continue across the country. A heavy rain advisory has been issued, especially for central regions, with downpours forecast to reach up to 80 mm per hour overnight.

A heavy rain advisory was issued for North Gyeongsang Province, islands in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, and Eocheongdo in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province. Heavy rain warnings will be expanded to central regions, including Seoul, the capital area, and Gangwon Province, starting at midnight.
While rainclouds in the Yeongnam region will gradually move away, powerful rainclouds approaching from the West Sea will bring heavy downpours to central areas from the early morning of the 18th.
In the capital region, extremely heavy rainfall of 50 to 80 mm per hour is expected between 3 a.m. and morning on the 18th. Other central areas, such as Gangwon and Chungcheong Provinces, should remain vigilant through noon.
Expected rainfall from the 17th to the 19th is 100 to 200 mm for the capital region and Gangwon Province, with some places possibly seeing more than 300 mm.
Rainfall of 80 to 150 mm, with a maximum of more than 250 mm, has been forecast for the Chungcheong region. In North Jeolla and North Gyeongsang Provinces, some areas may also see rainfall exceeding 120 to 150 mm.
This rain is expected to be concentrated at night and during the early morning hours. Since these times are when securing visibility and evacuating is most difficult, particular caution is required to avoid safety accidents in underpasses, near rivers, and mountain valleys.
As the ground has already weakened due to significant rainfall, the mountain landslide crisis alert level has been raised from "attention" to "caution."
On the morning of the 18th, the lowest temperatures are expected to be 23 degrees Celsius in Seoul, 24 degrees in Daejeon and Daegu, and 26 degrees in Gwangju. The highest daytime temperatures will be 26 degrees in Seoul, 24 degrees in Gangneung, 32 degrees in Daegu, and 31 degrees in Gwangju. While the central region will be cool due to the rain, the southern region will continue to experience hot weather.
Most marine areas will experience gusty winds and thunder and lightning for the time being. Sea levels are also expected to rise, so precautions should be taken to prevent flooding in low-lying coastal areas.
