"200,000 Won Per Person Before Chuseok"… Local Excitement Over Livelihood Support Grant in This Region
Immediate Payment Upon September Supplementary Budget Approval
Naju City, designated as a special unified city of South Jeolla and Gwangju, will provide 200,000 won in livelihood recovery support funds per resident before Chuseok in order to revitalize the local economy and support citizens’ livelihoods.
According to Naju City on July 17, the recipients are citizens whose resident registration is in Naju as of the payment base date, July 1, 2026. Marriage immigrants and permanent residents are also eligible. The support funds will be issued in the form of Naju Sarang Gift Certificates, and once the city council passes a second supplementary budget in September, the payment process will begin. The total project budget amounts to 23.8 billion won.
Once the budget is finalized, the city will begin accepting applications and making payments both online and through local administrative welfare centers starting September 14. The goal is to distribute the funds before Chuseok and complete all payments by October. The funds will be provided either through the mobile app 'CHAK' or as a prepaid card, and must be used by the end of November.
To reduce initial congestion, the city will operate parallel online and in-person application channels. Additionally, Naju will provide advance information on the application process and payment schedule via its official website, social media platforms, press releases, banners, and administrative welfare centers.
