Won Both 1st and 2nd Prizes With Birthday Lottery Ticket: "I Will Repay My Father Who Raised Us Alone"
Pension Lottery 720+ 323rd Drawing Winner
"I Will Use the Prize for My Father Who Raised Us Alone"
A man who had consistently purchased lottery tickets, motivated by a desire to repay his father who raised him and his sibling alone after losing their mother at an early age, ended up winning both the 1st and 2nd prizes with a Pension Lottery ticket he bought on his own birthday.
On July 17, Lottery Korea, the national lottery operator, released the story of Mr. A, who won both the 1st and 2nd prizes in the 323rd draw of the Pension Lottery 720+. The winning ticket was sold at a lottery retailer in Namdong-gu, Incheon.
Mr. A recalled that after losing his mother during childhood, his father alone was responsible for raising the siblings and supporting the family. Even after entering society, he often felt regret that he could not sufficiently repay his father due to the demands of daily life.
He explained, "For the past several years, I have diligently purchased a lottery ticket once a week, thinking that one day I might be able to help my father."
Luck arrived on his birthday. After purchasing the Pension Lottery ticket for his birthday, Mr. A checked to see if he had won a few days later, and discovered he had won both the 1st and 2nd prizes at the same time.

He added, "Above all, I was most delighted to realize that I could now help my father buy a house."
The day he bought the ticket was his own birthday, and the day he received the prize money was his older sister's birthday. He said, "It felt even more special, as if our mother in heaven was watching over our family."
He plans to use all of the prize money for his father. Mr. A explained, "I want to support my father's living expenses and help provide a home so that he can spend his later years in comfort, without having to work any longer."
Meanwhile, in the previous round, the 322nd, there was also a case of someone winning both the 1st and 2nd prizes simultaneously.
According to Lottery Korea, Mr. B, who bought the winning lottery ticket at a retailer in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, had a dream in which his late father appeared and told him to "take good care of the family." After the dream, Mr. B bought a Pension Lottery ticket on his way to work.
A few days later, as he was passing by the lottery store, he decided to check his winnings just in case, and discovered that he had won the 1st prize.
Mr. B recalled, "For about 10 to 15 minutes, I was speechless and could only stare at the ticket," adding, "I was happy and grateful because it felt like my father had given me a great gift so I could better take care of our family."
Mr. B, who usually purchased both Lotto and Pension Lottery tickets, stated that he plans to use the winnings for his children's wedding expenses and to repay loans.

Since Pension Lottery tickets are often purchased in bundles of five, cases where both the 1st and 2nd prizes are won together are relatively frequent. The 1st prize winner receives 7 million won per month for 20 years as an annuity, while the 2nd prize winner receives 1 million won per month for 10 years, also as an annuity.
