Heavy Rainfall Expected Nationwide on the 18th
On Friday the 17th, which is also Constitution Day, the skies across the country are expected to be mostly cloudy, with rain forecast for the Chungcheong region, southern regions, and Jeju Island. From tomorrow night, some areas in the Seoul metropolitan area may also experience rainfall.
The expected rainfall amounts for the 17th are as follows: Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk: 20 to 60mm; Jeonbuk, Gwangju, and Jeonnam: 30 to 80mm; Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam: 30 to 80mm; Daegu and Gyeongbuk: 20 to 60mm; and Jeju Island: 5 to 10mm.
In most parts of the country, the highest perceived temperatures will rise to around 31 degrees Celsius, making it feel hot. Tropical nights are expected, as the minimum temperature at night will remain above 25 degrees Celsius.
The morning lows are forecast to be between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs ranging from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Starting on the 18th, heavy and widespread rain is expected nationwide. In particular, Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province are predicted to receive between 50 and 150mm of rain, with southern Gyeonggi likely to experience torrential downpours exceeding 200mm.
Waves on the sea are expected to reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the east and south coasts, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters off the west coast.
