This meeting was organized to address securing necessary national funding for the 9th popularly elected government's core projects, the development of Gyosan New Town, and large-scale projects together with both ruling and opposition political figures. Provincial Council members Oh Ji-hoon, Bang Mi-sook, Kang Seong-sam, and Oh Min-yong, as well as Jeong Hye-young, Chair of the Urban Development and Construction Committee of Hanam City Council, and City Council member Shin Seon-ho, also attended to offer support.
At the meeting, Mayor Lee highlighted increasing domestic and international economic uncertainty and the rise in inflexible fiscal spending, which are making local financial conditions increasingly challenging. He emphasized, "Securing external resources such as national and provincial funding is more critical than ever for the implementation of major pending projects and alleviating residents' inconveniences." He requested, "Please join forces across party lines and cooperate in a bipartisan manner."
Regarding the development of Gyosan New Town, Mayor Lee stressed that the principle of "infrastructure and transport first, followed by occupancy" must be strictly upheld. Referring to Hanam City's previous case, he pointed out, "When developing Misa, Gam-il, and Wirye New Towns, Hanam had to allocate 490.6 billion won (approximately 700 billion won in present value) from its own budget to make up for shortages in transportation and infrastructure. We must not repeat the same mistake."
Mayor Lee also proposed expanding living SOC facilities, increasing the supply of public housing with priority for Hanam citizens, as well as attracting companies to self-sufficient sites in Gyosan.
The mayor further presented his vision for developing Misa Island. He explained that he plans to designate 30% of Misa Island as a K-culture complex (K-Star World) and 70% as the Seoul metropolitan area's first national garden, fostering it as a new hub for combining culture, tourism, and ecology. To realize this, he stressed the need for total support from Gyeonggi Province regarding deregulation of development restriction zones (GB) and prompt administrative procedures from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
He also unveiled a blueprint to attract 10 trillion won in investment and create large-scale jobs by 2030 through building an AI innovation cluster, developing Camp Colbern, and attracting corporate headquarters.
In response, Lee Kwang-jae, Chairman of the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee, expressed his commitment, saying, "I will personally oversee the attraction of AI-based projects such as the H2 site and the Gyosan AI Innovation Cluster to Hanam."

The parties also agreed that the National Assembly, local councils, and Hanam City will maintain a constant collaborative system to support the establishment of a new Hanam Education Support Office and balanced development projects in the original downtown, Misa, Wirye, and Gam-il regions.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae reiterated, "Bipartisan cooperation across the aisle is essential to make Hanam the leading city of the metropolitan area for the future. Building on active collaboration with Chairman Lee Kwang-jae, Congressman Kim Yong-man, and the National, provincial, and city councils, we will ensure the smooth implementation of next year's national and provincial projects and fulfill our promises on key tasks to the citizens without delay."
