Geumcheon District Offers Diverse Customized Programs for Youth During Summer Vacation
Geumcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Choi Ki-chan) is offering a “Special Summer Vacation Program” to promote emotional well-being and capacity-building among local youth during the summer break.
On July 17, the district announced that it has expanded participation opportunities by organizing a range of programs at youth facilities—from healing camps aimed at relieving academic stress to entrepreneurship and writing projects, as well as cultural and leisure experiences.

Doksan Youth Cultural House will host the “Geumnarae Camp” at the Gyeonggi-do Youth Camping Site on July 25–26, supporting emotional relaxation for youth through activities such as glamping and campfires. In addition, the “Entrepreneurship Management” program will begin on August 1, and the “Youth Writer Project” based on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) will run from July 22, helping participants explore career paths and enhance creativity.
Experience-based programs will take place at the Geumcheon Youth Cultural House. “Geumcheon In Festa: Travel the World in Your Room,” scheduled for August 8, is an event where participants can explore global cultures through booths representing each continent. Additionally, a family cooking program called “Geumcheon Picnic” (July 25) and a youth communication program called “Healing Together” (August 1) will also be offered.
Programs for out-of-school youth have also been arranged. The Geumcheon District Out-of-School Youth Support Center “Kkum Dream” will host the “SUMMER FOREST” leisure and sports camp in Gapyeong on July 20–21, offering water park and water leisure activities. This center was previously selected as an excellent institution, placing in the top 7% nationwide in the comprehensive evaluation by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
In addition, the Seoul Metropolitan Geumcheon Youth Center will launch the “2026 Geumcheon Multi-Value Participatory Entrepreneurship Project,” selected as part of the UNICEF Child-Friendly City contest. This program allows multicultural and general youth to work together as teams, experiencing every stage of entrepreneurship from ideation to production, sales, and donation.
District Mayor Choi Ki-chan emphasized, “We will continue to provide our fullest support in a wide range of areas to enable our youth to recharge their vibrant energy and take another step forward.”
