Prosecutors Request Arrest Warrants for Two Who Blocked Entry to Jamsil Vote-Counting Center
Arrest Warrant Requested on Charges of Obstruction of Business
The prosecution has requested an arrest warrant for a woman in her 30s, identified as A, who blocked representatives of sports organizations from entering the vote-counting center at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
On July 16, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office requested an arrest warrant for A on charges of obstruction of business.
A is accused of blocking representatives of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee from entering the office at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium for about two hours on June 16 while draped in the American flag, thereby disrupting work.
Earlier in the day, police applied for a preliminary arrest warrant for A on charges of obstruction of business. Police had previously summoned and questioned A on July 10.
The prosecution has also requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 30s, one of the five individuals accused of illegally searching the women's junior handball national team on June 8.
