This agreement is a public-private partnership project aimed at revitalizing the local economy and supporting children from vulnerable groups, simultaneously, by utilizing local agricultural products for food upcycling and promoting value-oriented consumption online.
Korea Expressway Corporation will provide sponsorship of 50 million won, while Green Umbrella Child Fund will oversee project operations and the execution of sponsorship funds. Food Factory will produce cup fruit products using Shine Muscat grapes from Gimcheon, and Kakao Makers will support online sales. Profits from these sales will be used by Gimcheon City to support children from underprivileged backgrounds.
This structure allows consumers to support both local farmers and children in need simply by purchasing the products. The model attracts attention as an ESG-based social contribution initiative that combines regional specialties, private platforms, and public institutions.
Mayor Bae Nakho of Gimcheon City stated, "This is a new social contribution model enabling local agricultural products to help those in need through value-based consumption," adding, "We will continue to expand ESG social contribution projects based on public-private cooperation."
With this agreement, Gimcheon City plans to further expand sharing initiatives using local resources and to establish a win-win model where both the local economy and welfare can grow together.
