Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has completed the delivery of six T-50i advanced trainer aircraft to the Indonesian Air Force, bringing the total supplied to 22 units.
On July 16, KAI announced that it had completed the final delivery procedures for six T-50i aircraft to the Indonesian Air Force and received the final acceptance certificate.

Indonesia, the first export customer for the T-50, signed a contract for 16 T-50i aircraft in 2011, which have since been used for advanced training, light attack, and special aerial mission operations. Including the six additional units, Indonesia has now introduced a total of 22 T-50i aircraft.
An official from the Indonesian Air Force stated, "The newly delivered six T-50i units are expected to significantly improve the operational capability of our flight squadrons and enhance the tactical training proficiency of our pilots. They will play a vital role in strengthening the air force's capabilities and combat readiness."
A KAI representative said, "The successful final delivery of the six T-50i aircraft is a meaningful achievement made possible by customer trust combined with KAI's aircraft development and manufacturing capabilities. We will continue to raise customer satisfaction through stable follow-up logistics support and technical assistance."
Indonesia is not only the first country to introduce the KT-1 and T-50 aircraft, but also a joint development partner of the KF-21 program. Strategic defense cooperation between the two countries is expected to deepen further.
Indonesia has introduced a total of 42 domestically produced aircraft (20 KT-1 and 22 T-50 units) and is participating in the international joint development project for the KF-21. Through the ongoing IF-X project, Indonesia is expected to become the first country to introduce the KF-21.
The adoption of the KF-21 by a joint development partner is expected to have a positive impact on the expansion of KF-21's overseas markets, including Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The T-50 continues to secure follow-on orders, recognized for its performance and sustainment support systems. The Philippines introduced 12 units in 2014 and signed an additional contract for 12 more last year, while Thailand has introduced a total of 14 units since 2015.
