Korea Racing Authority Acquires First Human Rights Management System Certification... Strengthens ESG Management
Human Rights Management System Officially Recognized by Korea Management Registrar
Expanding Human Rights Protection to the Supply Chain and Stakeholders
Korea Racing Authority has further strengthened its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management foundation by officially receiving recognition for its human rights management system from a professional certification body.
Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Woo Hee-jong) announced that it has acquired the "Human Rights Management System Certification" from Korea Management Registrar (KMR) for the first time.
The Human Rights Management System Certification is a credential granted by a professional institution after an objective assessment of an organization's human rights management policies and control systems, as well as its compliance with global standards and government guidelines for human rights management.
Over the years, Korea Racing Authority has continuously established a management system not only for compliance and human rights protection of its employees but also for preventing human rights risks among stakeholders throughout the equine industry as a whole.
In particular, last year, the organization joined the "Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs)," a global initiative jointly operated by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and UN Women, actively implementing international standards for gender equality and empowerment of women.
Additionally, it operates a human rights management council with the joint participation of the parent company and subsidiaries, and conducts various activities to spread a culture of respect for human rights within and outside the organization, such as the "On-site Human Rights Respect Campaign" co-hosted by labor and management.
This certification is significant in that it officially acknowledges Korea Racing Authority's expansion of its human rights protection system not only within its business operations but also throughout the entire horse racing industry supply chain. As the demand for ESG management grows and human rights management in the supply chain becomes a key competitive factor for companies, this certification is expected to play a positive role in strengthening the foundation for sustainable management.
