Expansion of Customized Training to Create Added Value for Farmers
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it has concluded the 'Agricultural Products Idea Consignment Processing Commercialization Process,' which was conducted from June 18 to July 16, 2026.
This training was part of the Rural Life Skills Education program. It was designed to alleviate the burden of facility investment for food manufacturing and to provide farmers with opportunities to develop processed products from their own agricultural products.

The curriculum consisted of five stages: ▲Understanding consignment processing production and the Food Sanitation Act ▲Choosing consumer-targeted sanitary packaging methods ▲Compliance requirements for packaging processed agricultural products ▲Preparatory steps before requesting consignment processing ▲Writing a commercialization proposal for processed agricultural product ideas.
Additionally, Kim Ikjo, CEO of the Communication Business Research Institute and a specialist instructor in processing, was invited to compare and analyze the packaging and prices of commercially available products and to conduct tastings, allowing participants to examine the latest consumer trends.
Participants assessed commercialization possibilities by directly developing processed product ideas using agricultural products they had grown themselves through hands-on exercises.
Meanwhile, Sancheong County is implementing the 'Consignment Processing Production Support Project' for the first time this year. The project connects the processing center at the Gyeongnam Anti-Aging Research Institute and local agri-food companies' processing facilities to support farmers in producing and selling processed products in practice.
Sancheong County plans to continue expanding related training and support projects to further strengthen farmers' processing capabilities and create added value for agricultural products.
An official from Sancheong County stated, "Since many farmers find it difficult to commercialize agricultural products due to the initial burden of facility investment, we will expand projects that link practical training with production support."
