View original imageOn the afternoon of the 15th, Mayor Lee visited a detached housing complex in Jinmok-ri, Namsa-eup, Cheoin-gu, where he examined the collapsed retaining wall and surrounding facilities caused by the torrential rain. On site, he listened directly to the residents' reports of damage and safety concerns and discussed recovery measures.
This area suffered damage during the early morning of the 14th, when concentrated heavy rainfall caused the collapse of two retaining walls, each approximately 3 meters high, and ruptured a water supply pipe.
After checking the scene with the disaster response officer, officials from Cheoin-gu Office, and others, Mayor Lee directed the team to implement safety measures for the remaining retaining wall at risk of collapse and to draw up plans for emergency restoration.
Residents requested the swift removal of additional hazards around the collapsed retaining wall and prompt implementation of safety measures.
