KB Financial Group announced on July 16 that it has established the "KB AX Digital Asset Fund," a strategic investment (SI) fund with a size of 100 billion won.
Key KB Financial Group affiliates, including KB Kookmin Bank, KB Securities, KB Insurance, KB Kookmin Card, and KB Life Insurance, are participating as limited partners (LP), while KB Investment is serving as the general partner (GP) of the fund.
KB Financial Group established this fund to build a foundation for strategic investments aimed at securing future leadership in digital finance. The goal is to proactively invest in early-stage domestic digital asset-related companies and thereby establish a digital asset ecosystem led by KB. Additionally, the fund plans to invest in promising technology companies specializing in AI models and application services, as well as data inference and analytics, to accelerate the group's AI transformation (AX).
The main focus of this fund is to go beyond simple financial investment by identifying companies that can generate synergy with the group’s digital strategy, and to facilitate real business collaboration. KB Financial Group aims to establish a virtuous cycle of investment, business linkages, and mutual growth, thereby strengthening its future digital competitiveness while supporting the sustainable growth of invested companies.
