People Power Party Decides to Expel Cheongju City Council Member Over Suspected Prostitution with Minor
The People Power Party decided on July 15 to expel Choi Youngjung, a Cheongju City Council member, who is facing accusations of engaging in prostitution with a minor.
The Ethics Committee of the People Power Party's North Chungcheong Provincial Chapter announced that it held an emergency meeting that day and resolved to expel Councilman Choi. As a result, the provincial chapter plans to announce the convening of the Operations Committee on July 16 and will hold a meeting on July 20 to finalize the expulsion procedure for Councilman Choi.

The North Chungcheong Provincial Chapter of the People Power Party stated, "We deeply apologize to the citizens of Cheongju for causing concern with this incident," adding, "We will further strengthen the ethical standards of our party's elected officials and will do our utmost to prevent similar cases from recurring."
