Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Launch New Unified Brand 'Omterra'
Unified Branding with Siemens Gamesa
Gradual Rebranding to Begin at the End of This Year
Global energy technology company Siemens Energy announced on July 15 that it will launch Omterra, a single integrated corporate name and brand, along with its wind energy subsidiary Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, upon the expiration of its licensing agreement following its spin-off from Siemens AG in 2020.
This rebranding initiative will be implemented gradually, starting at the end of this year.
Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy, stated, "From the time of the spin-off, it was agreed that the Siemens Energy brand would be used only for a limited period. Today, our company has established a strong position in terms of strategy, operations, and finance. We have earned the trust of customers and capital markets, improved profitability, and developed a roadmap for growth over the coming years. Now is the right moment to begin the transition to an independent brand."
CEO Bruch added, "The Siemens name, derived from our founder, has opened doors to new opportunities and provided a solid foundation for establishing independent footing. This legacy will continue to inspire us and remind us of our mission as we lead the future energy market."
Siemens Energy explained, "We have strategically selected 'Omterra' as our independent brand targeting the global market. The new corporate identity reflects Siemens Energy's global reach, unrivaled technological strength, and powerful vision to deliver reliable energy worldwide."
