Wemade's "StableNet Wallet Version 2" Enables Selective Disclosure of Sensitive Information Such as Payroll
Resolving the Blockchain Privacy vs. Regulation Dilemma
Intuitive, Bank-Level Usability and Security
Wemade unveiled "StableNet Wallet Version 2," which incorporates private remittance technology, as part of its Korean won stablecoin business on July 15.
Wemade has applied privacy-focused design technology in StableNet Wallet Version 2, enabling users to protect sensitive information typically exposed to external parties—such as salary and asset size—and selectively disclose it only when necessary. This addresses one of blockchain's core characteristics, where all transaction information (deposits, withdrawals, payments, etc.) is transparently visible to the public, with a technological solution to enhance privacy.
This technology, known as a "stealth address," is designed to thoroughly hide detailed transaction information from outside observers, while allowing authorized businesses or regulatory agencies to audit and verify as needed. Wemade emphasized that this achieves a regulatory-compliant private remittance system that satisfies both privacy protection and transparency requirements.
The company has also preserved intuitive and user-friendly usability (UX) on par with contemporary bank applications. Users can transfer assets in a secure and familiar manner, just as they would with a conventional financial app, without encountering the complexities or learning curve typically associated with blockchain technology.
Wemade stated that StableNet Wallet Version 2 opens the door for more widespread use of stablecoins in sensitive sectors such as corporate payrolls and large-scale inter-institutional remittances, where asset exposure is a concern.
Seokhwan Kim, Vice President at Wemade, commented, "StableNet Wallet Version 2 is highly significant in that it has demonstrated financial innovation with a real, functioning app available to the public. Building on a wallet infrastructure that meets both privacy and regulatory standards, we will lead the development of a Korean won stablecoin ecosystem capable of being deployed in real-world financial scenarios."
