Eligible applicants are graduates in the humanities such as history, philosophy, aesthetics, or in language-related majors such as Korean language and literature, or English literature.
This is the first time since its founding in 1966 that Hyosung Group has announced a recruitment notice exclusively for humanities majors. Even in the overall business community, cases where only humanities majors are eligible to apply are extremely rare.
Hyosung Group explained that this recruitment is being carried out to attract talent who possess both a background in the humanities and language proficiency, reflecting its status as a global company. A Hyosung Group representative stated, "Hyosung Group generates more than 80% of its revenue overseas as a global company," and added, "This recruitment aims to secure talent with a foundation in the humanities, language skills, and the passion to work in global business environments."
Accordingly, applicants who wish to work in global business settings will be given special consideration. There are no limitations on the positions to which recruited employees may be assigned after hiring.
This recruitment initiative is interpreted as reflecting the management philosophy of Hyosung Group Chairman Hyun Joon Cho, who has continuously emphasized the importance of the humanities and language proficiency. In a past media interview, Chairman Cho stated, "Some in our generation believe that it is difficult to succeed unless technology is combined with the humanities," and, "The ability to read changes and to sense the right timing, like riding a roller coaster, comes from the study of the humanities."
