Program Supporting the Growth of Women IT Talent in Seoul

Each Participant to Receive $300 in Codex Credits

Aiming to Promote AI Agent Expansion Through Project Presentations

The Seoul Foundation of Women & Family is running a program to support the growth of women in the information technology (IT) field. In this program, IT talent designs their own learning topics.

On July 15, the foundation announced that it will launch the fifth cohort of the 'IT's Study' program in partnership with OpenAI Korea. This fifth cohort is an advanced course specializing in building AI coding agents based on the OpenAI API and Codex, making it much closer to real-world applications. Participants are expected to go beyond just using prompts, progressing to the actual coding stage where they will directly call APIs, link Codex-based AI coding agents to services or side projects, and implement workflow automation.

OpenAI, which is joining the fifth cohort of 'IT's Study,' is a company that develops and operates generative artificial intelligence (AI) models such as ChatGPT and Codex. In September last year, it officially established its Korean office, OpenAI Korea. This collaboration is significant in that it strives to nurture female talent who can adapt to the AI era.

OpenAI Korea will be involved throughout all stages of the program, from providing credits to participating in the final presentations. Each participant will receive Codex credits valued at $300 per person, and ChatGPT Pro six-month subscriptions will be awarded to the three teams with outstanding projects.

OpenAI engineers will give technical lectures in person during the orientation or at the final presentation event. Specialists from OpenAI will also take part in the project evaluation, providing real-time, on-site technical feedback. The program will proceed step-by-step, from recruitment through to the final presentation, involving around 20 teams and between 100 and 150 participants. Recruitment for team leaders will be held from July 14 to August 3, and participant recruitment will take place from September 1 to September 17.

Park Jeongsuk, CEO of the Seoul Foundation of Women & Family, said, "Through this collaboration with OpenAI, developers will be able to further strengthen their capabilities in working with AI at the actual code level. I look forward to seeing the tangible results of that growth at the presentation event in December."
