LX Hausys Launches 'LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board' Wall Finishing Material with Fire Safety Features
Targeting Multi-Use Facilities... Launched in 30 Color Options
Easy Installation with MDF Board Pre-Attached to Interior Film
On July 15, LX Hausys announced the launch of its new interior wall finishing material, the "LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board," which features fire-retardant properties that slow the spread of flames during a fire.
The LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board is a finishing material that consists of a medium-density fiberboard (MDF) with a fire-retardant interior film attached. LX Hausys has applied its proprietary fire-retardant technology, which mixes flame retardants at an optimal ratio during the raw material blending stage, endowing the film itself with fire resistance. This technology effectively blocks the transfer of heat into the interior in the event of a fire.
Fire retardancy refers to the material's fire safety performance, enabling the securing of critical evacuation time. Therefore, the use of fire-retardant materials is mandatory in multi-use facilities such as movie theaters, restaurants, and educational institutes.
The LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board also meets fire safety standards. It passed the fire-retardant performance test conducted by the Korea Fire Institute (KFI), and the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) interior film attached to the board has even obtained CE certification, which is the European Union (EU) safety standard.
It also offers installation convenience. In multi-use facility buildings, walls are typically finished in the order of cement-gypsum board-MDF board-interior film. Because the LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board is sold as a combined MDF board with an interior film attached, it can be installed directly onto the wall without additional work, dramatically reducing construction time.
Furthermore, eco-friendly materials have been used, such as MDF boards with an E0 (less than or equal to 0.5 mg/L) formaldehyde emission rating and fire-retardant interior films with environmental label certification. The new LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board series comes in a total of 30 color options reflecting the latest interior trends, including wood, stone, and solid (single-color) designs.
The LX Z:IN Fire-Resistant Board is available in two material options: polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate). LX Hausys is the first company in Korea to introduce a fire-retardant board made of PET material. Not only does it offer premium texture and design, but it can also be used for a variety of applications, from wall panels to kitchen cabinets and storage furniture.
