Aroot Subsidiary NSRC Secures New Photolithography Equipment Order from Taiwanese Semiconductor Company
NSRC, the semiconductor equipment subsidiary of Aroot, is accelerating its entry into overseas markets, having secured another order from a Taiwanese semiconductor fabrication plant (fab) following a technical service agreement with a Chinese semiconductor company.
On July 15, NSRC announced that it has received an order worth 1.1 million dollars for refurbished i-line photolithography equipment to be supplied to a Taiwanese semiconductor fab.
Under this agreement, the company will leverage its proprietary technology to upgrade the equipment and deliver the refurbished photolithography system tailored to the customer’s production line environment. This equipment is used in the photolithography process, forming circuit patterns on semiconductor wafers, and is notable for its applicability across various semiconductor production lines.
This latest order from Taiwan follows NSRC’s recent signing of a technical service contract for high-resolution photolithography equipment for advanced processes with a Chinese semiconductor company, valued at 1.4 million dollars, demonstrating the company’s expanding overseas business.
According to the company, demand for refurbished photolithography equipment has been rising in small- and medium-sized semiconductor fabs in Taiwan and China, resulting in growing overseas orders. Refurbished equipment is favored by smaller fabs that are expanding or converting their production lines due to its shorter lead time and lower cost compared to new equipment. In particular, i-line photolithography machines are considered well-suited for these needs.
NSRC explained that by recently delivering refurbished photolithography equipment ordered by a Taiwanese company last year, it has built trust among local clients, which in turn helped secure this additional contract.
A representative from NSRC stated, "By successfully delivering refurbished photolithography equipment to a Taiwanese company last year, we established trust, which has led to this additional order. As global demand for refurbished photolithography equipment continues to increase, we are now seeing an uptick in orders driven by our proven technology and diverse track record."
They added, "We recently completed delivery of refurbished photolithography equipment valued at 2.95 million dollars to a Taiwanese company, and the newly ordered equipment will also be supplied within this year. We expect significant performance growth centered on our semiconductor photolithography equipment business starting this year." The representative also noted, "In addition to this contract, we are in discussions to supply refurbished photolithography equipment to semiconductor companies in several countries, raising the likelihood of additional orders."
