328.7 Trillion Won in Electronic Bond and CD Issuances in H1... Up 4.6% Year-on-Year
In the first half of this year, the total volume of bonds and CDs (Certificates of Deposit) issued electronically through the Korea Securities Depository reached approximately 328.7 trillion won, representing a 4.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the Korea Securities Depository on July 15, the volume of bond issuances registered stood at about 308.6 trillion won, marking a 10.3% rise from a year earlier and a 4.1% increase from the previous six-month period. The volume of registered CD issuances was about 20.1 trillion won, which represents a decrease of 41.9% year-on-year and a 37.8% drop from the previous half-year.

By type, the share of registered issuances was: special bonds (43.2%), financial company bonds (28.6%), general corporate bonds (12.3%), CDs (6.1%), SPC bonds (4.6%), national housing bonds (2.3%), local public corporation bonds (2.0%), and local government bonds (0.9%), in that order.
