Secures 67.28% in Final Vote; Songdo Convensia to Host the Eight-Day Event
The 2030 International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Congress will be held in Songdo, Incheon. This is the first time the congress will take place in Korea.

View original imageThe Korea Tourism Organization announced on July 15 that it has successfully attracted the 2030 ISPRS Congress to Korea. The congress is scheduled to be held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon from June 29 to July 6, 2030.
The ISPRS Congress is an international academic conference in the fields of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and spatial information, held every four years. According to the organization, approximately 3,000 participants, including around 2,000 international attendees from 100 countries, are expected to attend the 2030 congress. The economic ripple effect is estimated to be approximately 9.2 billion won.
In the bidding process for this event, Incheon competed against Wuhan in China, Sydney in Australia, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, and Nairobi in Kenya. Incheon emphasized its MICE infrastructure and tourism content to attract the congress.
In the first round of site selection voting held at the 2026 ISPRS Congress in Toronto, Canada on July 5, Incheon received 76 votes with a share of 46.91%, the highest among the candidates. In the final vote on July 8, Incheon secured 109 votes and a vote share of 67.28%, ultimately surpassing Sydney to be confirmed as the host city.
The Korea Tourism Organization collaborated with the Korean Society of Surveying, Incheon Metropolitan City, and Incheon Tourism Organization during the bidding stage. At the previous congress held in Toronto, the Tourism Organization's Toronto Office promoted Korea’s bid by operating an information booth and hosting an official banquet for decision-makers. The Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto also attended the official banquet to support the bidding efforts.
