Baropharm Establishes 10 Pharmacy Beauty Zones, Plans Expansion to 1,000 Pharmacies This Year
Baropharm (CEO Kim Seulgi), a total pharmacy management platform company, has completed the establishment of 10 Pharmacy Beauty Zone locations—a specialized space for K-beauty within pharmacies—and is accelerating the expansion of its K-beauty distribution network based on pharmacies.
The Pharmacy Beauty Zone is a shop-in-shop style specialty store inside pharmacies, where a dedicated space is set up to sell K-beauty and dermacosmetic products in one place. It is designed to allow consumers to conveniently purchase a wide array of products, while providing pharmacies with new sources of revenue.
Baropharm currently operates Pharmacy Beauty Zone in 10 key pharmacy locations, focusing on major commercial districts with high inflows of foreign tourists, such as Myeong-dong, Hongdae, and Seongsu, as well as pharmacies with strong cosmetics demand. The company plans to expand installations not only in main business districts in Seoul but also in pharmacies across the country focusing on cosmetics sales, ultimately reaching over 1,000 Pharmacy Beauty Zone locations in pharmacies by the end of the year. Through this strategy, Baropharm aims to develop pharmacies into new offline distribution hubs where domestic and international consumers can directly experience and purchase K-beauty products.
This project is being driven by Baropharm based on its operational expertise gained from supplying products of large tenants such as Rejuall and Rejuvenex to pharmacies. The company plans to expand its distribution model by leveraging know-how in pharmacy-specific business districts and customer characteristics, product assortment, and merchandising, providing cosmetics brands with new offline distribution channels and consumer touchpoints, and offering pharmacies differentiated products and extra revenue opportunities.
Online support is also being strengthened in parallel. Baropharm operates a dermacosmetic section on its own platform and offers brand-specific sections, enabling partner companies to more effectively share their products and brand information with pharmacies.
Currently, a diverse range of well-known K-beauty and dermacosmetic brands in the dermatology market—such as Juvelook, Rituo, and ExoCoBio—are part of the Pharmacy Beauty Zone. In addition, by collaborating with leading beauty companies such as Dr.Melaxin, VT, and Tom, Baropharm is exclusively introducing pharmacy channel-specific products and further enhancing product competitiveness. The number of participating brands and exclusive product lines will continue to increase as the network expands nationwide.
A Baropharm representative stated, "We have accumulated experience in merchandising a wide variety of products through pharmacy distribution, tailored to the specific business environment, customer demand, and product operations of each location." The representative added, "Pharmacies, where professional consultation is provided, are an optimal new distribution channel for K-beauty and dermacosmetic products focused on function and ingredients."
