Kimchi Made with Love in Summer: BPA Delivers 4 Tons of Young Radish Water Kimchi to Vulnerable Groups
Joint Effort with Hope Pantry Partners
Supporting 800 Neighbors Near the Port
Busan Port Authority (BPA) is preparing kimchi as a summer food and gifting it to vulnerable groups living near the Busan Port. While preparing a large amount of kimchi at once is a tradition typically reserved for winter, this activity is being held in the sweltering summer as an act of neighborly love.
Busan Port Authority, led by President Song Sangkeun, announced on July 14 that it had held the “BPA Summer Kimchi-Making Event with Hope Pantry Operating Agencies” at its headquarters the previous day, July 13, and prepared 4 tons of young radish water kimchi.
This event was organized to support the food security of vulnerable groups during the summer, when donations and sponsorships tend to decrease. The support item was chosen as young radish water kimchi, which is in high demand during the summer, based on last year's user satisfaction survey of Hope Pantry users and feedback from partner agencies.

The 4 tons of young radish water kimchi will be delivered to 800 vulnerable individuals living near Busan Port through the partner agencies.
Busan Port Authority continues its flagship social contribution program, the BPA Hope Pantry, in collaboration with local welfare organizations and municipalities near the port, providing food and daily necessities to those in need.
