Gimcheon City in North Gyeongsang Province has launched a customized local tax education program to help married immigrant women settle stably in the region.
On July 13, Gimcheon City announced that it held an education program titled 'Learning Local Taxes Alongside Life in Korea' for about 30 married immigrant women at the Gimcheon City Family Center.

The class was taught by the head of the local income tax team from the Taxation Division at Gimcheon City Hall, who provided case-based explanations of local tax systems closely related to daily life, such as acquisition tax, automobile tax, property tax, and resident tax.
To enhance understanding, guidebooks in nine languages—including Vietnamese, Chinese, and English—were provided, and non-face-to-face payment methods, such as Smart Wetax, easy payment systems, and ATMs, were also introduced.
In particular, the education highlighted the importance of preventing tax delinquency by explaining the disadvantages of arrears and introducing prior consultation programs.
Leveraging this program, Gimcheon City plans to collaborate with the Family Center to operate the customized local tax education as a regular program and further strengthen its foreign resident-friendly administrative services.
