Baemin Startup Square Emerges as a Cradle for Early-Stage Startups
More Than 60 Early-Stage Startups Now Reside Here
Operating Essential Infrastructure and Programs to Support Growth
Located in the 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley, 'Baemin Startup Square'—established by Woowa Brothers—has recently emerged as a cradle for early-stage startup growth. Since officially beginning operations earlier this year, a diverse range of early-stage startups, each less than seven years old, have moved in, and a variety of accelerator programs are now up and running.
According to Woowa Brothers on July 14, Baemin Startup Square is currently home to more than 60 early-stage startups across a variety of sectors, including food tech, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and environmental technology. Resident startups are provided with office space without any rent or deposit requirements. This is intended to help startups achieve stable growth without the burden of rental costs. The initial contract period is two years, after which it can be extended annually based on performance evaluations. The maximum residency is 10 years.

This is achieved through partnerships with both public and private sector support organizations. Fourteen specialized organizations in the fields of incubation, investment, legal, and accounting—including the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, Venture Square, DLG Law Firm, SparkLabs, In & Out Corporation, Korea Startup Forum, and Draper Startup House Korea—design and operate customized growth support programs for resident startups. Regular seminars, consulting, and training are provided in essential fields such as legal affairs, business management, and accounting.
Additionally, to support funding and scaling-up opportunities, Baemin Startup Square plans to offer investor relations (IR) sessions connecting startups with venture capital and other investors, as well as opportunities to participate in meet-up events. To this end, the space is equipped with not only office areas, but also a 'Pitching Zone (Track Zone)' for startups to present and share their business models, a 'Coworking Zone' with open desks that can be flexibly used according to team size, and a 'Café Lounge' designed for relaxation and networking.

As the overall coordinator, Woowa Brothers also operates infrastructure and programs essential for startup growth together with its partner organizations. For example, on July 10, the 'Woowahan Baton' program held at Baemin Startup Square was a condensed hackathon in which resident companies participated to solve technical problems and develop service prototypes within a limited time. In cooperation with the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, Woowa Brothers also plans to run follow-up programs such as practical business plan writing support and advanced lectures. Myungseok Ko, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Woowa Brothers, said, "Through an ecosystem that covers everything from talent development to startup incubation and commercialization support, we will continue to play a leading role in the IT and startup market."
