Next, as their first volunteer activity, they visited the Naro Space Center Space Science Museum and the surrounding outdoor ecological learning area, where they carried out a 'plogging' environmental cleanup activity by collecting waste and plastics along the roads and coastal zones.
In the evening, they enjoyed seasonal sashimi and spicy fish stew at Nokdong Port Hoe Town and wrapped up the first day by watching the dazzling 'Nokdong Port Drone Show' that lit up the night sea at Nokdong Port.
On the second day, July 12, the program began at the Sorokdo Marianne & Margaret Sharing Training Center, reflecting on the heartwarming history of sharing that Gohung embodies.
Participants deeply shared the noble values of sharing and service by watching a documentary about 'Marianne and Margaret,' known as the angels of Sorokdo, and attending a lecture by Father Kim Yeonjun. Then, as the second volunteer activity, they strolled along the Sorokdo coastline and conducted another environmental cleanup to help preserve Gohung's pristine environment.
Afterwards, at the Sharing Training Center, a 'Volunteer Tour Reflection Sharing' session was held for participants to discuss their impressions of engaging with the local community during the tour. The meaningful two-day, one-night journey concluded with a visit to the 'Gohung Local Food Direct Market,' where they could purchase agricultural products grown with care by Gohung farmers at reasonable prices.
One participant shared, "It was much more rewarding and memorable than any other trip because we went beyond simply enjoying the beautiful nature of Gohung and were able to participate in volunteer activities to help keep the Space Center and Sorokdo coastline clean with our own hands."
