Special K-Culture Exhibitions at BEXCO During World Heritage Committee Session
Thirty-Eight Traditional Performances and G-Dragon Campaign
Ongoing Guard Duty and "Royal Walk" Reenactments
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on July 14 that it will present special exhibitions and performances at the "Korea Pavilion" in Exhibition Hall 1 of BEXCO, during the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which will be held in Busan from July 19 to July 29.
The main stage, "K-Heritage Stage," will feature thirty-eight traditional performances such as Cheoyongmu, Bukcheong Saja Noreum, Yeongsanjae and Suryukjae rituals, and Dongnae Crane Dance over a ten-day period. On July 20 at 4 p.m., an open class exploring the significance of world heritage will be held, hosted by broadcaster Kyungseok Seo. All performances are open to the public without prior reservation.
Government ministry promotion booths will also stand out. The National Archives of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will organize a special exhibition featuring twenty types of UNESCO Memory of the World heritage and more than 100 archival items. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will showcase the world heritage "Getbol, Korean Tidal Flats" and K-seafood, while the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will present the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage "Korean Jang Fermentation Culture" and K-food through media content and tasting experiences.
Buddhist heritage will also be highlighted. The world heritage "Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea," along with Haeinsa and Tongdosa temples, will run promotional booths. The Yeongsanjae Preservation Association, designated as a National Intangible Heritage, and the Jingwansa Gukhaeng Suryukjae Preservation Association will share the current status of their preservation activities through photos and video materials. The Korea Studies Advancement Center will introduce Confucian documentary heritage under the theme "Korean Plaques in World Heritage," and will operate plaque-making and calligraphy experience programs.
JustPeace Foundation, the official cooperating organization of the committee, will introduce the "Heritage in Peace" campaign for the World Heritage Fund, together with singer G-Dragon, and host a reception with refreshments.

The Cultural Heritage Administration will also run ongoing programs such as guard duty in traditional costumes and "Royal Walk," a reenactment of a Joseon royal procession. During lunchtime, a guard character mascot will greet visitors in the exhibition hall, and there will be heritage tattoo experiences where visitors can select one of Korea's seventeen world heritage sites, along with souvenir giveaways for those who certify their participation on social networking services (SNS).
