Ottogi Raises Shipment Prices of Curry, Ketchup, and More... Pepper Up 17%
Ottogi has decided to raise the shipment prices of certain products, such as curry and ketchup, as the cost burden from the high exchange rate has grown.
According to industry sources on July 13, Ottogi plans to increase the shipment prices of 29 items, including curry, glass noodles, ketchup, and pepper, starting on the 16th of this month. The average price increase by product category is 6.1% for curry and ketchup, 10.0% for glass noodles, and 17.0% for pepper.
The price of the flagship curry product, 3-Day Aged Curry Mild (80g), will rise from 3,200 won to 3,680 won. The price of Old-Fashioned Glass Noodles (500g) will increase from 7,180 won to 7,950 won. Tomato Ketchup (300g) will go from 2,180 won to 2,480 won, and Pure Pepper Can (50g) will be adjusted from 4,850 won to 5,380 won.
The increased shipment prices will be gradually applied across different distribution channels starting from the 16th.
This price increase is attributed to the continued rise in raw material and subsidiary material costs following the Middle East war.
Lotte Chilsung Beverage raised the shipment prices of 44 products, including Chilsung Cider, by an average of 5.3% from June 26. As packaging materials account for a large portion of total raw material costs in the food and beverage industry, companies in the sector are expressing concerns over accumulating cost burdens.
