Yongin Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Sangil) has established a public-private partnership system to provide medical and vehicle maintenance benefits to volunteers. The aim is to strengthen recognition for volunteers and promote a culture of sharing within the local community.

View original imageOn July 13, Yongin Special City announced that the Yongin Volunteer Center had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the city hall reception room with Medifield Hangang Hospital and the Yongin Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Automobile Maintenance Business Association to support volunteers.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin Special City and Chairman of the Yongin Volunteer Center, Kang Namgyu, Director of Medifield Hangang Hospital, and Lee Kwangmin, Chairman of the Yongin Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Automobile Maintenance Business Association.
The Yongin Volunteer Center and Medifield Hangang Hospital will cooperate in the following areas: promoting a culture of sharing in the community through active volunteer activities, collaborating on social contribution and medical support to address local issues, enhancing volunteers' health and medical service convenience, engaging in joint promotional activities for mutual development, and developing practical support measures to foster volunteerism.
Under this agreement, Medifield Hangang Hospital will offer discounts on the out-of-pocket expenses for non-covered medical treatments to outstanding volunteers affiliated with the Yongin Volunteer Center. The hospital will also collaborate on initiatives to improve volunteers’ health, provide convenient medical services, and engage in social contribution activities in the medical field.

View original imageThe Yongin Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Automobile Maintenance Business Association will also provide a 10% discount on labor costs for vehicle maintenance to outstanding volunteers and offer free vehicle inspection services at member repair shops.
The three organizations have also agreed to jointly promote the spread of a sharing culture through revitalized volunteer activities, connect social contribution initiatives, cooperate in mutual publicity efforts, and develop practical support measures to foster volunteerism.
Mayor Lee Sangil stated, "I would like to thank Medifield Hangang Hospital and the Yongin Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Automobile Maintenance Business Association for supporting volunteers in Yongin and participating in community sharing activities. I hope that such private sector participation will continue to expand, encouraging more citizens to join in social contribution activities."
