The Muan County Council of Gwangju-Jeonnam Integrated Metropolitan City has completed the formation of its leadership team for the first half of the 10th Council and confirmed the new leadership that will guide the council for the next two years.
On the 13th, the council convened its 309th extraordinary session, during which it elected the chairperson, vice chairperson, and standing committee chairs, thereby finalizing the organization of the first half of the 10th Council. In the chairperson election held that day, Assemblyman Yun-Taek Im was elected as chairperson, while Assemblyman Young-Bok Yang was elected as vice chairperson.

View original imageIn the subsequent election for standing committee chairs, Assemblyman Jun-Hoe Lee was elected as chair of the Council Operations Committee, Assemblywoman Eun-Kyung Jeong as chair of the Administrative and Welfare Committee, and Assemblyman Won-Jung Kim as chair of the Industry and Construction Committee.
The newly formed leadership team plans to represent the will of the residents through legislative activities over the next two years, while striking a balance between oversight and cooperation with the executive branch, focusing their legislative capabilities on local development and improving the quality of life for citizens.
In his acceptance speech, Chairperson Yun-Taek Im stated, "I will create a trustworthy council that meets the expectations of the residents with a strong sense of responsibility," adding, "Based on communication and harmony with fellow council members, I will pool our wisdom and do my utmost to improve the quality of life for residents and advance the region."
He further emphasized, "I will devote all my efforts to ensuring that the council becomes a source of strength and hope for the residents." The Muan County Council stated its intention to faithfully reflect the diverse voices of the community in its legislative work based on mutual respect and cooperation and to realize an open council that works closely with residents through field-oriented legislative activities.
