Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on July 13 that County Governor Jin Byeongyoung visited local heatwave shelters to inspect their operations and on-site response in preparation for the heatwave.
This inspection was organized to prevent heat-related illnesses and to ensure the safety of vulnerable groups, with a particular focus on checking the current status of shelter operations and the management of cooling facilities.

Currently, Hamyang County operates 627 heatwave shelters in the region and is implementing various measures to prevent damage from the heatwave, such as providing support for cooling expenses, checking in on vulnerable groups, conducting monitoring activities, and promoting guidelines for coping with heatwaves.
Governor Jin stated, "We will continue to inspect the operation of heatwave shelters and our heatwave response system to minimize damages caused by extreme heat."
