Busan Selects Five Excellent Youth Employment Companies
Socialbin, IQ Lab, and Others to Receive Grants and Tax Benefits
Five companies in the Busan region that have consistently increased youth employment and worked to improve their working environments have been selected as this year's Excellent Youth Employment Companies.
On July 13, the Busan Metropolitan City Government announced that it would hold the "2026 Excellent Youth Employment Companies" certification ceremony at the International Protocol Room in Busan City Hall, where the selected companies would receive certificates and plaques. This is the first youth employment event since the launch of the 9th popularly elected administration.
The Excellent Youth Employment Companies program is a system in which Busan Metropolitan City selects outstanding companies from among its "Cheongkkeul" (companies that attract youth) companies, based on a comprehensive evaluation of youth employment growth over the past three years, the quality of jobs, working environment, and the potential for corporate growth.
This year, 23 companies applied and, after document screening, on-site inspections, and interviews, five companies were finally selected: Kumoh Electric Co., Ltd., Socialbin Co., Ltd., CNET Co., Ltd., IQ Lab Co., Ltd., and Hanmi Hydraulic Machinery Co., Ltd.
The selected companies have demonstrated achievements in expanding youth hiring, enhancing welfare programs, and fostering a culture of work-life balance across various sectors, including shipbuilding equipment, power semiconductors, information and communication technology (ICT), and consumer goods.
The list includes Socialbin Co., Ltd., Busan's first pre-unicorn company; IQ Lab Co., Ltd., a power semiconductor company; Kumoh Electric Co., Ltd., specializing in eco-friendly ship equipment; CNET Co., Ltd., focused on shipbuilding and marine ICT; and Hanmi Hydraulic Machinery Co., Ltd., specializing in hydraulic machinery for ship engines.
The selected companies will receive certificates and plaques, as well as 40 million won in Good Workplace Support Funds, reductions in acquisition tax for business real estate, and postponement of local tax audits.
Going forward, Busan Metropolitan City plans to expand university-linked programs centering on Excellent Youth Employment Companies and Cheongkkeul companies, and will host a Cheongkkeul Company Mega Job Fair in September to broaden employment opportunities between local youth and companies.
