Ten Straight Wins Over Zverev, His Notable Rival
World No. 1 Yannick Sinner (Italy) has achieved back-to-back titles at the 2026 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, which offers a total prize fund of 64.2 million pounds.
On July 13 (Korean time), Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev (ranked 3rd, Germany) in the men’s singles final on the last day of the tournament at the All England Club in London, United Kingdom. After a 3-hour and 46-minute battle, Sinner prevailed 3-1 (6-7<7-9> 7-6<7-2> 6-3 6-4). Following his first Wimbledon victory in last year's final, he has now claimed the title for the second consecutive year. The winner’s prize is 3.6 million pounds (approximately 7.26 billion won).
This marks Sinner’s fifth career Grand Slam title. He has now equaled his rival Carlos Alcaraz (ranked 2nd, Spain) in Wimbledon titles and has narrowed the gap in total Grand Slam victories to two. Alcaraz did not participate in this tournament due to a wrist injury.
