People Power Party: "Kim Yongbeom's Economic Policies Have Failed Miserably... He Must Take Responsibility and Resign"
Comprehensive Criticism of Real Estate, Exchange Rate, and Price Policies
"Where Did the Confidence Go That Called the 'Three Highs' the 'Cost of Success'?"
The People Power Party on July 11 criticized Kim Yongbeom, policy chief at the Presidential Office, stating, "If the policies you designed and pushed forward have failed, it is the minimum duty of a public official with a conscience to take responsibility and resign as soon as possible."
Eunseok Choi, Chief Spokesperson for the party, said in a commentary that day, "Who was at the forefront in designing and driving both real estate policy and financial market policy? It was Kim Yongbeom," he declared.
He went on to say, "Yesterday, at a briefing, Kim announced that President Lee Jaemyung would personally preside over a large-scale real estate policy debate, also stating, 'The government does not presume to have all the answers.' Where did all that confidence go, the same confidence with which he lectured the people, calling the 'three highs' the 'cost of success'?"
He continued, "The average apartment price in Seoul is approaching 1.6 billion won, and the number of rent refugees continues to rise. The exchange rate remains stuck in the 1,500 won range, and prices are soaring," criticizing, "This is the dismal report card of Kim Yongbeom's economic policies."

Spokesperson Yongsul Cho also issued a commentary that day, saying, "The real estate debate should not become a venue for tax hike tricks, but rather a time to reflect on policy failures." He added, "It must be a starting point for humbly listening to the voices of the people and fundamentally re-examining the entire trajectory of real estate policy up to now."
