View original imageOn July 10, at the Saeam Hall of Jukjeon Digital Square, Mayor Lee attended the 'Yongin Severance Hospital AI Capability Enhancement Seminar,' where he discussed ways to expand the use of AI in the medical field and to foster a local innovation ecosystem.
The event was attended by over 90 participants, including Mayor Lee, Park Jino, Director of Yongin Severance Hospital, medical staff, and Shin Jaechun, Director of the DowooTech AI Development Center.
This seminar was organized to boost the AI utilization capabilities of medical professionals and accelerate digital innovation in healthcare. Participants shared strategies for integrating AI technology into clinical settings and discussed directions for building research and industry cooperation models.
In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Lee stated, "I am once again reminded that Yongin Severance Hospital has been a leading institution, developing various solutions and pursuing digital healthcare innovation since its opening. I hope this workshop serves as a meaningful opportunity for us to reflect on how to utilize AI in medical practice and to share our insights as we enter the AI era."

After the event, Mayor Lee visited the DowooTech AI Development Center inside Jukjeon Digital Square to personally review the status of medical AI research and technology development by the tenant organizations. He then discussed with officials ways to expand collaboration among industry, academia, and hospitals in the field of medical AI.
In March, Yongin City established a partnership for 'free shared office space for fostering local AI and venture companies' with DowooTech, Yongin Severance Hospital, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Kangnam University, Yongin Arts and Science University, and Robocare.
