Singer IU (real name Lee Ji-eun, 33) and actor Lee Jong-suk (37) have broken up after four years of their public relationship.
According to Yonhap News Agency on July 10, IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment stated, "The two have broken up." Lee Jong-suk’s agency A-MAN Project also confirmed, "It is true that they have separated, and they have decided to remain good colleagues."
IU and Lee Jong-suk first met in 2012 as co-hosts of the SBS music program "Inkigayo." They remained colleagues in the entertainment industry before becoming a couple in 2022.
That same year, at the MBC Drama Awards where Lee Jong-suk received the Grand Prize for the drama "Big Mouth," he said to IU, "Thank you for always being so amazing, and I want to say that I have liked you for a very long time."
