Jang Donghyuk: "President, Ruling Party, and Election Commission Form a Massive Cartel... Special Prosecutor Recommended by the Opposition Needed"

Hosts National Parents' Public Forum
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, criticized President Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party of Korea, and the National Election Commission on July 10, calling them "a colossal cartel that effectively acts as a single body and undermines South Korea's democracy."
On this day, Jang attended the 'June 3rd Nationwide Parents' Rights Violation Public Forum' co-hosted by the People Power Party Central Women's Committee and the Mom Comfort Special Committee at the National Assembly. He said, "President Lee Jaemyung and the Democratic Party are thoroughly protecting the irresponsible and arrogant Election Commission," expressing his criticism.

It is also the Democratic Party that has made, or is trying to make, the Election Commission into an unchecked institution."
Jang continued his criticism regarding the special prosecutor for the Election Commission, which the Democratic Party has agreed to. He stated, "Although they say they will accept the special prosecutor, they insist only on the third-party recommendation system, and they are trying to limit the investigation to just the recent local elections." He added, "If handled that way, no truth can be properly uncovered."
He went on to say, "The investigation must not be limited to just the recent local elections, but should also cover past elections without restriction. For this, it is essential that the People Power Party recommends the special prosecutor." He further emphasized, "The People Power Party will do its utmost to create a 'People's Special Prosecutor.'"
In his closing remarks, Jang strongly criticized, "South Korea has already become a dictatorship. In a country where laws like the 'gag law' pass without concern, democracy has already collapsed."
Yoon Sanghyun, who chairs the National Assembly Special Committee for the Investigation into the Ballot Paper Shortage Incident, also stated, "Since the president and government are stakeholders, it is not appropriate for them to recommend the special prosecutor. The special prosecutor should be recommended by the opposition party, which is not a stakeholder. I will make sure the opposition's recommendation for the special prosecutor is realized."
