Hancom With Purchases 1.08 Million Hancom Common Shares on Market, Raises Stake to 31%
25% More Than the Pre-Disclosed Acquisition Plan
Hancomwith, the holding company of Hancom, announced on the 10th that it purchased 1,081,666 shares of Hancom common stock on the open market from June 4 to July 3.
The investment amount was approximately 20.6 billion won, equivalent to a 4.47% stake. This exceeds the acquisition plan pre-announced on April 30 by about 25%.
As a result, Hancomwith's direct stake increased from 26.73% to 31.20%. Including related parties, the largest shareholder group now holds 40.15% of Hancom.
Hancom cited confidence in future growth potential as the reason for the purchase. The company explained that as its transformation into an artificial intelligence (AI) company is beginning to show in its performance, the largest shareholder strengthened its position by increasing its stake.
Last year, Hancom's standalone revenue was 175.3 billion won, up 10.2% from the previous year. Of this, revenue from the AI package business accounted for about 8.9 billion won, or 5% of the total.
Hancom is expanding its AX (AI transformation) business. Recently, it has carried out AX projects for BGF Group, Korea Western Power, and the National Assembly, supplying solutions tailored to the differing work environments of private conglomerates, public enterprises, and government agencies.
