Fled One Kilometer After Ignoring Police Order to Stop
An unlicensed driver who fled after ignoring a police order to stop was apprehended following a pursuit.
On July 10, Guro Police Station in Seoul announced that a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, has been booked without detention on charges of unlicensed driving under the Road Traffic Act.
According to police, at around 3 p.m. the previous day, Mr. A is suspected of driving a vehicle near Digital Complex Five-way Intersection in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, while his driver's license had been revoked.
The police checked the license plate of Mr. A's vehicle while it was waiting at a signal and confirmed that his license had been revoked. They repeatedly ordered him to stop, but Mr. A reportedly ignored the instructions and drove off.
After pursuing him for about one kilometer, the police apprehended Mr. A as he was hiding between vehicles in the underground parking lot of a nearby building, arresting him in the act.
It was confirmed that Mr. A was not under the influence of alcohol at the time.
