Naver Donates USD 300,000 for Earthquake Relief in Venezuela
Happybean Donation Platform Users Also Join the Effort
Naver recently announced on July 10 that it has donated USD 300,000 (approximately KRW 452 million) to support the rapid recovery of Venezuela, which was recently affected by a major earthquake.
The relief funds, delivered via Naver's online donation platform "Happybean," will be distributed with USD 100,000 each to UNICEF, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and the UN World Food Programme. The donations are intended to aid in the recovery from the earthquake that struck Venezuela last month.
User participation on Naver's Happybean online donation platform also continues. As of the previous afternoon, about 50,000 participants had donated a total of KRW 540 million. To encourage more users to join, Happybean plans to make an additional donation by matching 10 beans (KRW 1,000) for every user who makes a donation through the platform.

To date, Naver has consistently supported disaster relief and recovery efforts in the face of earthquakes, heavy rains, wildfires, and COVID-19. The company donated KRW 1 billion each for the restoration of areas affected by heavy rainfall in July last year and wildfires in the Gyeongsang and Ulsan regions in March. In 2023, Naver also contributed USD 1 million for the recovery from the Türkiye-Syria earthquake.
