A Feast of Food and Entertainment
Donghae Weekend Night Market Runs Through Late August
Donghae City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Jeonghak) is launching the East Sea Central Market Weekend Night Market to attract summer vacation tourists and revitalize the traditional market.
Donghae City announced that the "Weekend Night Market" will be held at East Sea Central Market every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., starting July 10 through August 29.
The night market will feature 20 food booths and 16 flea market stalls, offering a variety of food, handmade crafts, and local specialties. On the opening day, July 10, a kickoff ceremony and busking performance will be held at the market's outdoor stage at 6:00 p.m., officially marking the start of operations.
This year, the night market has differentiated itself by expanding its selection of specialized menus and products that highlight Donghae City's ocean, seafood, and marine tourism resources. Various events and hands-on programs will also be held throughout the market, providing visitors with both culinary delights and entertainment.
East Sea Central Market is a traditional market that represents the region with its fresh seafood and diverse food offerings. The city expects that, in addition to providing tourists with unique nighttime tourism content through the night market, it will also inject new vitality into the local commercial district.
