The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held the "2026 First Half-Year Growth Sharing Workshop for Gyeonggi Education Rights Protection Support Center Staff" at Gonjiam Resort from July 9 to 10, discussing ways to strengthen on-site support for the protection of educational activities.

The workshop was attended by Superintendent An Minseok, the heads of all 25 Gyeonggi Education Rights Protection Support Centers in the province, as well as educational supervisors, counselors, and administrative staff from the education offices—amounting to around 100 participants. Attendees shared cases on preventing violations of educational activities, responding to incidents, and supporting the recovery of affected teachers, seeking practical, on-the-ground solutions for protecting teachers' rights.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education completed the establishment of 25 Gyeonggi Education Rights Protection Support Centers across the province last year. This year, the office is further strengthening its teacher protection system by newly implementing the "Mind Recharge Program" tailored to different stages of teachers' careers, expanding on-site preventive education, operating regional teacher rights protection committees, and increasing legal, administrative, and psychological support.

Notably, this workshop featured demonstrations of education activity protection support programs, presentations of best practices, and growth-sharing discussions, providing an opportunity to enhance the response capabilities of each regional center and to reinforce cooperative systems.

On the day of the workshop, Superintendent An emphasized, "Ahead of establishing the Bureau for the Protection of Educational Activities—which will require the completion of the relevant ordinance—I will first form a Teachers' Rights Protection Task Force to enable swift and effective responses. I will personally serve as the head of the task force and take full responsibility."

He added, "First, teachers' rights; second, teachers' rights; third, teachers' rights. Even if the sky falls, I will be the superintendent who protects our teachers," and pledged, "I will take direct responsibility to ensure that teachers can devote themselves solely to teaching."

Looking ahead, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education plans to establish a Bureau for the Protection of Educational Activities directly under the superintendent, and to implement a one-on-one dedicated support system for teachers affected by serious violations of educational activities, malicious complaints, or false accusations of child abuse—from the initial response through to the resolution of each case. Through these efforts, the office aims to create a public education environment in which teachers can focus on education and students can focus on learning.
