KOSPI Threatens 7,000 Level at One Point... Trades Flat Midday
KOSPI Surpasses 7,500 Points but Turns Lower
On July 9, although the KOSPI started the session with a rebound, it expanded its intraday losses and at one point fell to the 7,000 mark.
As of 1:38 p.m. that day, the KOSPI was trading at 7,246.52, down 0.27% from the previous session, showing a flat trend.
On the 9th, overcoming two consecutive days of sharp declines, the KOSPI successfully rebounded. The decline in the index is interpreted as being driven by individual investors' selling. On the KOSPI market, individuals have recorded a net sell of 2.3427 trillion won, while foreign investors have net bought 218.9 billion won and institutions have net bought 2.1898 trillion won.
Samsung Electronics, which had risen as much as 4% during the morning session, is currently down 0.5%. SK hynix is up 4.2%, though its gains have narrowed from the 8% range seen earlier in the day. Among other major stocks by market capitalization, SK Square (up 1.6%) and LG Energy Solution (up 0.1%) are trading higher, while Samsung Electro-Mechanics (down 1.4%), Hyundai Motor (down 4.4%), Samsung Life Insurance (down 5.7%), and Samsung C&T (down 4.0%) are declining.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ was trading at 792.29, up 0.93% from the previous session. The KOSDAQ had climbed as high as 819.69 in the morning, but expanded its losses and dropped back to the 790 range.
Individual investors have sold a net 308.5 billion won on the KOSDAQ market, while foreign investors have net bought 19.3 billion won and institutions have net bought 284.1 billion won.

Movements among top KOSDAQ stocks were mixed. Alteogen (down 2.5%), Ecopro BM (down 1.4%), and ABL Bio (down 1.6%) declined. Meanwhile, Ecopro (up 0.6%), Rainbow Robotics (up 0.1%), Jusung Engineering (up 3.3%), HLB (up 4.3%), Leeno Industrial (up 1.5%), Wonik IPS (up 2.1%), and Samchundang Pharm (up 3.3%) saw gains.
