Wavus Begins Building AI Platform for Korea Electrical Safety Corporation... Realizing Smart Administration with GeoAI
Wavus, a GeoAI specialist company based on spatial information, announced on July 9 that it has officially begun work on building an AI platform for the company-wide artificial intelligence transformation (AX) of Korea Electrical Safety Corporation.
Wavus has signed a contract for the "Electrical Safety AI Platform Construction Service," worth a total of 2,645 million won, commissioned by Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and held a project kickoff meeting. The project will be carried out as a consortium with WiseNuts and is scheduled to run for seven months starting this month.
The goal of the project is to innovate work processes using AI and establish a data-driven decision-making system. Wavus plans to apply GeoAI technology, which combines geographic information systems (GIS) and artificial intelligence, to enhance the efficiency of electrical safety management and support improvements in public service quality.
The platform will be built as an on-premises multi-large language model (LLM) environment, in compliance with the National Intelligence Service’s information security and network separation guidelines. It will be operated on internal servers separated from external networks, thereby reducing the risk of internal data leakage and providing a stable environment for AI utilization.
The AI will learn from a variety of internal data, including inspection records, accident status, and technical documents on power facilities (KESC), to deliver practical, intelligent services. AI agents will support a range of tasks, including business trip and attendance management, internal document Q&A, drafting work documents, and responding to civil complaints, thereby improving work efficiency through personalized services for each user.
Additionally, the company plans to minimize AI hallucinations by providing answers together with reliable sources, and to maximize usability by linking the platform with existing systems such as the Management Information System (MIS), in-house portal (KESCO-IN), and field work systems via API integration. Nationwide dispersed information and statistics related to electrical safety will be visualized on maps to support more intuitive decision-making.
A mobile AI service will also be established. Field inspectors will be able to access technical standards, work manuals, and related information in real time via mobile devices, and receive support for work-related queries, which is expected to enhance field response capabilities and professional expertise.
Wavus expects that once the system is complete, repetitive administrative work will be reduced, enabling employees to focus on core tasks such as planning and decision-making. As a result, not only will work efficiency improve, but the quality of electrical safety services for the public, including faster civil complaint processing, is also expected to be enhanced.
Hak-Sung Kim, CEO of Wavus, stated, "This project will become a leading example of combining AI and GeoAI technologies while complying with public sector security standards. As the lead company, we will consolidate the consortium's capabilities to successfully support the establishment of Korea Electrical Safety Corporation's smart administrative infrastructure and lead the AI transformation of the public sector."
