LG Electronics Launches Large-Capacity Commercial Laundry Appliances Globally, Strengthening B2B Strategy in Europe and Beyond
Sequential Launch of "LG Professional"
Rising Demand in Hotels, Hospitals, and Nursing Facilities
Lower Electricity Consumption and Reduced Fabric Damage
LG Electronics is accelerating the expansion of its global B2B (business-to-business) appliance business with the launch of its large-capacity commercial laundry appliance, "LG Professional."
On July 9, LG Electronics announced that it will sequentially launch LG Professional in key markets, starting in Europe this month and later expanding to Asia and North America. In Europe, where the tourism industry is highly developed and the proportion of elderly people is high, demand for large-capacity commercial laundry appliances is growing, especially in hotels, hospitals, and nursing facilities. According to global market research firm SkyQuest, the global commercial laundry market is expected to reach approximately USD 10.8 billion by 2032.
LG Professional consists of a total of six models: washing machines with capacities of 30kg, 25kg, and 20kg; dryers of 30kg and 25kg; and an all-in-one washer-dryer combo (25kg wash, 16kg dry) that can handle both washing and drying in a single unit.
Until now, LG Electronics has supplied commercial laundry appliances under 20kg to school dormitories and laundry rooms in residential complexes, establishing its business foundation not only in Korea but also in Asia, North America, and the Middle East. With the launch of LG Professional, the company plans to strengthen its targeting of B2B customers with large-capacity laundry needs.
LG Professional combines advanced core component technology with artificial intelligence (AI) in its "AI CoreTech," enabling delicate and meticulous washing and drying of large loads while improving energy efficiency. The AI analyzes the weight of the laundry to adjust water usage and optimize drying conditions, reducing not only time but also water and electricity consumption.
The washing machines feature a high-speed spin cycle of up to 1,100 rpm, which reduces residual moisture after washing and shortens drying time. 1,100 rpm means the drum rotates up to 1,100 times per minute, or about 18 times per second.
The "Dynamic Ball-Core System" has also been applied to ensure stable operation. This system uses a gyro sensor to detect imbalances within the drum and automatically corrects them, reducing vibration and noise during high-speed spinning. It also helps minimize wear and tear on parts, lowering maintenance requirements.
The dryers and all-in-one washer-dryer combo are equipped with a low-temperature dehumidifying "Dual Inverter Heat Pump." The heat pump utilizes heat generated during refrigerant circulation to remove moisture from the laundry. Compared to conventional heater drying, this method consumes less electricity and reduces fabric damage. LG Electronics stated, "LG Professional is the first combo model in the industry to apply a heat pump and offers the industry's largest capacity dryer, making it ideal for the energy-efficiency-focused European market."
LG Professional does not require duct installation to vent heat, eliminating the hassle of drilling holes in walls. As a result, it can be conveniently installed even in old European buildings or rental commercial spaces where structural modifications are difficult.
The user interface has also been designed for intuitive operation. With a 7-inch touch LCD, users can check and operate major functions from a single screen, and even those unfamiliar with the product can easily select washing and drying courses.
LG Electronics offers not only product supply but also a comprehensive B2B solution that includes installation, operation, maintenance, and management. The "LaundryCrew" commercial laundry operation management platform is a representative example.
LaundryCrew supports remote management and control, error notifications, and smart diagnostics. Customers can monitor the status of products in real time and efficiently manage multiple machines.
